Salary: Grade5 Pay Point 7-8 (Approximate starting salaryof Β£18,515)
Hours: 31.25 per week and 39 weeks per year ( 38 weeks Term Time, plus one week including INSET days)
Contract Type: Fixed Term with a end date of August 2027
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:30-15:15, with an unpaid lunch break
About the Role
Captains Close Primary School have an exciting opportunityfor a EYFS Learning Support Assistant. This is a varied role and we arelooking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual.
We are also looking for someone who is committed to improving outcomes for all of our children, along with a passion for providing inspirational learning experiences and someone with strong EYFS knowledge to workin our Reception class from August.

Key Responsibilities
- To work under the supervision of a teacher to provide care and encouragement tochildren and young people with disabilities or special educational needs, supportingthem to participate in activities and liaising, if required, with parents / carers / otherprofessionals as appropriate.
- To work under the direct supervision of a teacher to carry out planned learningactivities to meet the specific needs of designated children, either individually or insmall groups, providing feedback on their engagement in activities and theirachievement of the desired learning objectives.
- To support the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of pupils,including contributing ideas and suggestions to support planning, to meet theirdevelopment needs.
- To observe and feed back to the teacher on pupil performance and behaviour, takingaction as appropriate in line with relevant school policies.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications:
- NVQ 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning,or equivalentOR Able to demonstrate the ability to meet theSTL Level 2 National OccupationalStandards relevant to this post.
- Level 2 qualifications in maths/numeracyand English/literacy
Experience:
- Experience of supporting teaching andlearning in a formal setting
Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of child protection and healthand safety procedures.
- Ability and willingness to undertakeprofessional development.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Empathy with children and young people.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
