Are you a results-driven salesperson with strong arable knowledge and a willingness to travel extensively? Our client, an established multinational manufacturer supplying the arable sector, is seeking an experienced salesperson to manage their UK field sales activity and support growth in wider international markets. The successful person will cover the whole UK market, travelling extensively across the country to build relationships with customers, achieve sales targets and drive business growth.

The right person will have a true hunter mindset. You will have the drive to win new business, promote the company and raise the profile of the brand across the UK agricultural landscape, as well as supporting opportunities across Europe, Asia and North America. You will have experience within the arable sector and understand the harvest cycle and wider grain supply chain. You will be comfortable discussing crop quality, post-harvest processes and commercial considerations with farmers and farm businesses. You will travel weekly across the UK, visiting farms and agricultural businesses, promoting the company's products and services and developing long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel extensively across the UK and visit arable farms and agricultural businesses
  • Consult with farmers regarding current practices and technologies within the sector
  • Educate customers on new products and services and deliver sales presentations
  • Offer intelligent pricing solutions while ensuring commercial competitiveness
  • Develop new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with existing customers
  • Communicate new opportunities and market intelligence with the UK office
  • Attend industry events, trade shows and conferences to promote products and services
  • Hit personal sales targets and contribute towards global sales growth

Requirements:

  • Proactive, outgoing, confident and resilient
  • At least 3 to 4 years of sales experience
  • Highly driven to sell, capable of generating sales in the UK and abroad
  • Strong experience of arable farming and grain standards
  • Experience in seeds, arable crops or wider agribusiness preferred
  • Ability to understand arable farmers' cycles and demands
  • Excellent time management and record-keeping
  • Flexibility to travel extensively across the UK and internationally
  • Willingness to stay away from home regularly
  • Knowledge of the malting barley sector would be advantageous
