This is a senior leadership role for someone who understands one simple truth, agri tech only matters if farmers actually use it. Our client is working at the forefront of UK agri tech, helping innovative technologies move out of trials and into real commercial farm businesses. This role exists to make that happen at scale. As Senior Farms Engagement Manager, you'll sit at the point where farmers, innovation and commercial reality meet. You won't be running individual projects day to day. Instead, you'll design the strategy for how farmers are engaged across programmes, lead national teams, and make sure innovation is practical, credible and worth adopting on farm. You'll be the senior advocate for farmers inside innovation programmes, shaping how producers are brought in, how technologies are trialled and how adoption is accelerated once something actually works. You'll lead engagement managers, oversee demonstration farm networks, and build trusted producer champions who influence adoption across the sector.
Key responsibilities:
- Owning the national strategy for engaging primary producers, aligned to programme milestones and commercialisation pathways
- Designing clear, repeatable pathways through awareness, trial, validation, adoption and championing
- Ensuring robust capture of ROI, productivity, sustainability and impact data
- Leading and developing a team of Primary Producer Engagement Managers and the Farm Network Manager
- Ensuring new technologies are practical, commercially viable and deliverable in real farm systems
- Building trusted two way feedback loops between farmers, innovators and programme teams
- Developing and supporting a visible cohort of Producer Champions who influence peer adoption
- Identifying and helping remove the real barriers to adoption including cost, risk, complexity and confidence
- Setting KPIs, managing budgets and ensuring consistent delivery and reporting across regions
- Working closely with supply chain, advisory and programme stakeholders to support wider uptake
What we're looking for:
This is a senior, credibility led role. You'll need to bring both agricultural authority and strategic leadership. You'll likely have:
- Extensive experience working directly with commercial primary producers
- A strong understanding of farm business drivers (e.g. productivity, profitability, sustainability and risk)
- Proven experience leading and managing distributed, multi regional teams
- The ability to translate innovation into something farmers can realistically use and justify
- A deep understanding of what drives (and blocks) agri tech adoption
- Experience with impact measurement, ROI modelling or evidence based decision making
- An established network and credibility within UK agriculture and/or agri tech
- Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to challenge when something won't work on farm
What you can expect:
Highly competitive salary and package
