This well-established feed business is seeking a technical salesperson to take the reins of its successful ruminant performance products division and lead it into its next stage of growth. You'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of complementary products, including minerals, milk replacers, and rumen health solutions, designed to support livestock farmers with a full-service nutritional offering. The role combines product management with technical sales, requiring a strong understanding of both commercial and on-farm needs.
Working closely with the feed sales team, you'll receive leads for supplements and follow up with more advanced, technical support on farm. You'll also manage supplier relationships, monitor market trends, and ensure the product range continues to meet customer needs. This is a hybrid role. You'll be expected to spend around two days per week at the company's East Midlands site with regular travel across the Midlands to support customers and the sales team.
The role:
- Act as the company's in-house specialist on ruminant performance products, including milk powder, minerals, protected fats, and rumen health solutions.
- Lead technical sales activity for ruminant supplements, providing on-farm support and advice to livestock producers.
- Take full ownership of the product portfolio, selecting and managing products that best meet customer needs.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to drive product performance.
- Research new product opportunities, build supplier relationships, and take products to market.
- Work closely with the feed sales team, following up on leads and supporting their customer conversations.
- Drive sales growth and contribute to the division's commercial success.
About you:
- Strong technical knowledge of ruminant supplements.
- Previous on-farm sales experience.
- Commutable to East Midlands site.
- Willing to travel across England.
- Right to work in the UK.
- UK driving licence.
