As part of a planned succession strategy, you'll work closely with the current Grain Trader, gaining hands-on experience of the business, its customers and trading approach.

You'll benefit from a structured handover, ongoing support and the opportunity to gradually take on greater responsibility over time.

You'll be responsible for buying and selling grain, negotiating contracts and identifying opportunities within the market.

The role also includes involvement in the sale of agricultural inputs, including fertiliser, helping to provide a complete service to customers.

While primarily office-based, regular farm visits and attendance at agricultural events are an important part of the role.

Building strong relationships and understanding customers' businesses will be key to your success.

Role Overview Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, merchants and customers through regular visits and communication.

Buy and sell grain, negotiating contracts and securing trading opportunities.

Monitor grain markets, weather patterns, crop conditions and industry trends.

Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the trading operation.

Coordinate grain collections and deliveries with customers, growers and internal team.

Work closely with internal team to ensure the smooth movement of grain.

Provide market insights and guidance to customers.

Support the sale of agricultural inputs, including fertiliser.

About You Previous experience in a grain trading role Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Commercially minded with good negotiation skills.

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

Decisive and able to work effectively under pressure.

Degree desirable, ideally in Agriculture, Agri-Business or a related subject.
