You\’ll work closely with the Policy Lead to deliver evidence-based insights and help shape the conversations that matter to farmers and the wider agricultural community.

You will also have the opportunity to work on several projects in different departments gaining valuable experience across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities:

β€’ Support the development and delivery of policy strategies aligned with the organisation\’s goals.

β€’ Conduct in-depth research and analysis on agricultural policies, industry trends, and regulatory changes.

β€’ Assist in drafting clear, concise policy papers, consultation responses, and briefing notes.

β€’ Help engage with government bodies, industry groups, and other stakeholders to influence policy outcomes.

β€’ Monitor legislative and policy developments affecting UK farming.

β€’ Collaborate with Events and Membership teams on policy-related projects and communications.

β€’ Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for internal teams and external audiences.

β€’ Represent the organisation at policy forums, working groups, and industry events.

β€’ Contribute to member briefings and newsletters to keep stakeholders informed.

Experience & Qualifications:

β€’ Recent graduate or up to 1 year\’s experience in policy, research, advocacy, or a related role.

β€’ Proven ability to conduct research and produce well-structured reports or policy documents.

β€’ Interest in UK agricultural policy, rural affairs, or related sectors.

β€’ Experience in a charity, non-profit, or membership organisation is desirable but not essential.

β€’ Degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Agriculture, or a related field.

β€’ Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.

β€’ Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

β€’ Excellent time management and organisational skills.

β€’ Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

β€’ Proactive mindset and eagerness to learn and contribute.
