This is not a conventional Farm Manager role. Help shape the future of a pioneering Welsh estate.
What if your next farming role was not simply about managing livestock, but about restoring a landscape, creating a resilient farming system and leaving a lasting legacy?
Set across more than 500 acres of stunning Welsh countryside, this privately owned Estate is embarking on an ambitious journey: creating a commercially sustainable, nature-rich farming enterprise where livestock, biodiversity and conservation work together.
Working directly alongside the Estate Owner, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the Estate developing a low-input grazing system centred around native rare breeds, restoring habitats and creating a model for regenerative farming.
Alongside the livestock enterprises, the Estate is also home to rare breed wild horses, forming an important part of its conservation vision. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in equestrian management and experience handling horses would be highly valued.
This is an opportunity for someone who believes productive farming and nature recovery should complement one another.
The opportunity
You will take ownership of the day-to-day running and long-term development of the Estate, balancing excellent livestock husbandry with ambitious conservation goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
β’ Managing native rare breed cattle, pig and equine enterprises
β’ Developing regenerative grazing systems that support biodiversity and soil health
β’ Maintaining high standards of animal welfare, breeding and husbandry
β’ Supporting habitat restoration alongside ecological specialists
β’ Managing estate infrastructure, contractors, fencing, machinery and wider operations
β’ Helping develop future enterprises including pedigree livestock, orchards, horticulture, organic eggs and beekeeping
About you
We are looking for someone who sees farming as more than production - someone passionate about stewardship, regenerative agriculture and creating a lasting legacy.
You may currently be a Farm Manager, Assistant Farm Manager, Estate Manager or conservation grazing specialist. You will enjoy working independently, solving practical challenges and being part of a long-term vision.
You will ideally have:
β’ Strong livestock management experience, particularly with cattle
β’ Experience with regenerative farming or conservation grazing systems
β’ Practical estate management skills
β’ Confidence working with contractors and managing projects
β’ A genuine interest in biodiversity, habitat restoration and sustainable agriculture
β’ Experience with horses or equestrian management would be highly advantageous
Applications from couples are welcomed, particularly where there are complementary skills across farming, equestrian, conservation or estate management.
What's on offer?
β’ Competitive basic salary depending on experience
β’ Attractive three-bedroom farmhouse accommodation
β’ The opportunity to shape a pioneering regenerative farming project
β’ Significant autonomy and responsibility
β’ The chance to work alongside leading ecological specialists
β’ A rare opportunity to create a lasting impact on an exceptional Welsh landscape
Farm with purpose.
If you are looking for a role where livestock, conservation, horses and landscape restoration come together, we would love to hear from you.
