A rare opportunity for a dedicated and proactive individual to take full responsibility for the management of a stunning Scottish estate.

Located in Aberdeenshire, the estate spans approximately 1,200 acres and includes arable farming, forestry, fishing, and a property portfolio.

As Estate Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the estate on behalf of the owner. This includes general maintenance of the estate, its buildings, grounds and gardens, managing contractors for outsourced work, overseeing the estate\’s commercial enterprises and handling administrative tasks and record keeping.

An agricultural background would be beneficial, as while most of the farming is contracted out, the Estate Manager will still be expected to support during busy periods and oversee grain drying and storage.

There are also a number of rental properties on the estate that will fall under your management. These are powered by a biomass heating system, which you will be responsible for operating and maintaining.

We\’re looking for someone who is self motivated, hands on, and ready to take the lead in managing the estate – someone who understands that this is a lifestyle role, not a standard 9-to-5, and takes real pride in maintaining the estate to a high standard.

The role:

  • Management of 1200 acre estate and overseeing its various business interests
  • General estate maintenance and upkeep
  • Oversee arable contracting operations, with active participation during harvest and responsibility for grain management
  • Management of rental properties
  • Oversee forestry contractors
  • Management of estate\’s biomass heating system
  • Direct line management of full time general worker and casual staff as required
  • Small scale livestock management
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety on site

  • Outdoor, practical person capable of basic maintenance tasks
  • Understanding of arable crops and grain storage/drying
  • Able to manage staff, contractors and keep estate running smoothly
  • Comfortable with basic admin tasks and keeping accurate records
