A well-established firm in Wiltshire is looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its Agriculture and Landed Estates team. You will work closely with experienced Partners on a high-quality caseload involving farming families, landed estates, family businesses and multi-generational clients. The role combines working alongside Partners on established matters with running work independently, offering both support and autonomy. There is real scope for career development, including the potential to progress to partnership for the right person.
The Role
- Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax planning for individuals, trusts and family structures
- Advising on the passing of wealth to future generations, including succession planning for family businesses and farming enterprises
- Drafting and reviewing trust documentation, settlements and family partnership agreements
- Advising on asset protection and the use of trusts in tax planning
- Involvement in complex deceased estate administration work
- Working in conjunction with Partners on established caseloads, as well as handling your own matters
- Building and maintaining relationships with established referrers, local firms and the local farming and rural business community
What You Will Bring
- 5 or more years post qualification experience in Private Client law
- A solid understanding of the use of trusts and settlements within tax planning and asset protection
- Confidence and enjoyment in drafting bespoke, technical documents
- A real interest in tax efficiency and planning, and a genuine desire to deepen your expertise in this area
- Experience of managing your own workload effectively in a busy environment
- Strong organisational skills and a flexible approach to work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A commitment to high standards and client service
- Ability to travel to clients when required
- Good ICT skills
