The Vacancy

As a Material Controller your main responsibilities will include ensuring departments are processing all materials to our customer requirements from the start of the process to when the product leaves the site. You will interrogate data captured from manufacturing processes to enable full reconciliation, as well as audit on-site materials and components as part of the process through the site.

HSE/SECURITY

  • Report HSE/security near misses, as and when they occur, via the tier escalation process.
  • Carry out safe and secure audits as required.
  • Continuous policing of all areas to maintain high security presence, addressing and reporting all anomalies.
  • Always adhere to the relevant standards and SOPs, updating these when necessary.

COST

  • Conduct and supervise regular stock takes ensuring they are consistent with data records.

DELIVERY

  • Ensure all manufacturing departments are processing materials to the customer requirements.
  • Manage waste materials in adherence to the ISO 14298 and customer requirements.
  • Interrogate data captured from manufacturing processes to enable full reconciliation.
  • Initiate and conduct investigations to resolve problematic discrepancies.
  • Full Traceability of all stock within the Westhoughton site.
  • Liaise with manufacturing to establish material waste flow and support where required.
  • Process improvements and maintaining workplace organisation.

The above list is not exhaustive. You will be required to undertake other duties within your capabilities, consistent with this role, to support the needs of the business.

Key Qualifications, Skills And Experience Required

  • Knowledge of Quality Systems e.g., ISO9001.
  • Problem solving experience.
  • Statistical experience.
  • Auditing experience.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift and Flexi Truck License (Training will be provided).
  • Knowledge of production/technical processes and procedures with respect to SQCDP.
