Materials Controller position at Loughton, Essex (site: Debden). Reports to the Materials Control FLM. Responsible for controlling, reconciling, and destroying secure materials, maintaining supply systems, and collaborating with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Production Teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise, count and record secure substrate waste and spoils, ensuring proper authority.
  • Monitor and visually inspect products and materials throughout manufacturing to identify and report variances.
  • Destroy secure substrate (including plates) following policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of destroyed secure substrate/plates using computer‑based tracking systems and report deviations.
  • Assist the Materials Control WTL with investigations.
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Attend meetings, briefings, and material reviews, providing feedback.
  • Work safely, adhering to safety rules and using safety equipment when necessary.

Contract Type Permanent

Working Hours Double day shift pattern – Monday to Friday, 6am‑2pm or 2pm‑10pm (alternated weekly). From 31st August 2026 to 24/5 shift pattern 12‑hour shifts (6am‑6pm or 6pm‑6am, Monday‑Friday rota). Attendance is 40 hours per week on average, including a 30‑minute unpaid break and a 15‑minute unpaid break during the shift.

Base Location Debden

Basic Salary £36,292 per annum on double days, rising to £38,574 per annum on 24/5 shift pattern. After successful completion of a 6‑month probation, this increases to £39,258 per annum.
