We have an opportunity for a Cleaning Assistant to join our team at our site in Loughton, Essex. Reporting to the Facilities & Utilities Supervisor, you will ensure the production floor and employee areas are safe, clean and well-maintained. You will be responsible for cleaning of different areas, waste removal trucking, portering and other duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Transporting waste material to designated collection points
- Replenishing consumable items (soap, rolls, paper towels) when required
- Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, including collating and organizing recycling
- Identifying and reporting required fixtures, along with H&S near-misses/risks/hazards
- Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors
- Dusting, damp wiping, washing or polishing the furniture, ledges, windowsills and external surfaces of cupboards, shelves and fitments
- Using chemical agents in the discharge of cleaning operation or maintenance procedures (after receiving proper instruction and training)
- Maintain cleaning stock levels and inform the appropriate people of low stock levels (eg. cleaning products)
- Carry out routine administrative tasks required from time-to-time eg. checking off cleaning tasks on daily cleaning specification sheets
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: Day shift pattern – Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm
Base location: Loughton, Essex
Basic Salary: £25,107 per annum
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Ability to demonstrate clear communication & interpersonal skills
- A basic level of numeracy and literacy
- Organise your own workload and be a team player
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Pro-active and flexible
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment (desirable)
- A clear understanding of H&S requirements in an industrial environment
- An understanding and experience of a cleaning role
