The Vacancy

We are looking for an HR Advisor to join our small HR team, based at our Head Office in Basingstoke, Hampshire.

This is a broad generalist role, providing professional and proactive HR advice and support to the Group HR team and business stakeholders.

You will help managers apply policy consistently, manage employee relations activity, and support recruitment and employee lifecycle processes.

You will take ownership of day-to-day HR matters, escalating where appropriate, while supporting annual HR processes and maintaining strict confidentiality, data accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Key Accountabilities
  • HR Advisory & Employee Relations
  • Provide clear guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures and best practice, ensuring consistent application in line with employment legislation.
  • Manage employee relations cases, including absence, disciplinary, performance and flexible working matters, escalating more complex cases when necessary.
  • Prepare documentation, coordinate meetings and maintain accurate case tracking records.
  • Advise on policy application and support managers with effective, compliant decision-making.
  • HR Systems & Reporting
  • Produce HR reports, data analysis and insights to support HR activity and decision-making.
  • Create and maintain reports for Heads of HR and leadership reporting requirements.
  • Promote accurate system use and maintain high standards of data integrity.
  • Recruitment & Resourcing
  • Oversee recruitment processes and ensure full compliance.
  • Support the completion of offer forms and documentation sign-off
  • Ensure the full completion of probation reviews
  • Conduct 6 week checks ins with all new hires
  • Ownership of the coordination of onboarding activities and compliance documentation
  • Learning & Development
  • Support learning and development initiatives
  • Provide input into development planning and learning agreements
  • Track mandatory training completion rates,
  • Policy & HR Governance
  • Support the development and updating of HR policies ensuring alignment with employment legislation and best practice
  • Absence Management
  • Provide guidance on absence processes and case management
  • Support coordination of occupational health referrals
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance
  • Performance & Talent Management
  • Support performance management processes, including PDR and PIP activity
  • Leavers, Compensation & Benefits
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Approve benefit requests subject to eligibility
  • Support complex leaver processes, including redundancy and settlement documentation
  • Assist with payroll audits, benchmarking updates and compensation processes
  • General
  • Drafting of non-standard employment letters and documentation
  • Participate in audits and compliance activity
  • Support workforce arrangements including contractors, secondments, sponsored employees and employer of record (EOR) arrangements
