Shipping Co-Ordinator

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in 13 days at 23:59 BST.

The Vacancy

As a Shipping Co-Ordinator at De La Rue you will be responsible for the provision and despatch of internal/external customer orders using the 3PL transport provider. Ensuring that shipments are arranged at the correct security level and that all control measures are in place. You will reconcile monthly transport invoices and freight accruals, despatch orders off the ERP system and raise customer invoices on SAP ByD. You will be the primary contact for all packing and despatch plans in Westhoughton, receipting in goods and liaising with any suppliers / vehicles coming onto site.

You will

• Input details into the Shipping Log to provide notice of deliveries/collections to site.
• Arrange security escorts and transport compliant with the required security level for each shipment.
• Communicate shipment details with other sites, notifying delays and changes in advance.
• Work closely with planning, sales, security auditors and packing to achieve OTIF.
• Review customer complaints and input into problem solving activities/investigations.
• Optimise transportation costs and advise Senior Planner on cost variances
• Invoice verification for payment to correct cost centres and accounts.
• Plan and book collections in line with the manufacturing plan and customer delivery schedule.
• Complete bookings for the global shipment of cylinders, samples and finished goods.
• Produce export documents including but not limited to invoices, packing lists, EUR1, Certificates of Origin, Insurance Certificates etc
• Compile and issue Import Clearance instructions to freight forwards and liaise to arrange delivery where required
• Book and confirm shipments with authorised freight forwarders using both online services and manual booking forms

Key qualifications, skills and experience required

• Proven knowledge of Stock Control management of finished goods.
• Shipping of products globally using road, sea and air transport (known consignor knowledge)
• Invoicing and freight accruals using SAP ByD or a similar system.
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel, Word, ERP.
