You’ll own and enhance the reporting of production performance and challenge exceptions and work closely with the Central functions to ensure the business priorities are met in line with monthly targets, keeping in mind the resource available whilst preparing a production forecast.

Further to this you’ll work with other functions to ensure that materials and logistics required are available and in place to facilitate this process.

Key accountabilities of the role:

  • To provide a production plan that is realistic and measured, considering production constraints (manpower) and engineering requirements (maintenance).
  • To monitor and provide performance measures against plan to enable options for recovery.
  • To report actual production performance for managing WIP.
  • Maintain regular contact with central planning and commercial to provide ad-hoc planning scenarios.
  • Responsible for planning spreadsheets and ensuring they fall in line with Opt. Studio activities.
  • Responsible for setting up work orders, and manufacturing BOM’s into Target and Opt. Studio, chasing work through the processes and highlighting any discrepancies.
  • Responsible for providing a polymer and security feature schedule to procurement for ordering and initialising material request forms for contract work until such a time this is passed over to purchasing.
  • Responsible for collating, verifying, and analysing statistical data for planning and management.
  • Coordinate the trial process ensuring the process is followed and correct paperwork provided before adding to production plan.
  • Responsible for running the weekly and daily planning meetings, chasing up actions/non-attendees.
  • To create paperwork for shipments and ensure deliveries meet forecast and supporting the shipping coordinator to ensure timely outloads of products.

The above list is not exhaustive. You will be required to undertake other duties within your capabilities, consistent with this role, to support the needs of the business.

Key attributes:
  • Demonstrable experience of operating in a similar role within Production / Supply Chain Planning.
  • An understanding of the workflow and constraints on the planning process and knowledge of planning system and material control.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment - an understanding of the printing production processes would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Pro-active, always ‘ahead of the game’ flags potential issues before they become critical.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Math’s and English in GCSE.
  • Confident user of Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel. Ideally we’d like experience in excel based planning and system planning.
