The Vacancy
As an Engineering FLM at DLR, you will be managing the maintenance function, ensuring that equipment, services, and factory buildings are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. You will ensure that a continuous improvement culture is applied to drive the performance of our maintenance function. Your goal will be to maximize uptime of all assets, ensuring all works are planned with minimal impact on operations. You will mentor and coach the maintenance team, address gaps in training and capability, and ensure operational hours are covered with maintenance engineers to enable smooth factory operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Act and behave in a way compliant with all De La Rue company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environmental Health and Safety, Security, Ethics, and the Code of Business Principles.
- Identify, implement, and manage projects including new equipment, new processes, and improvements in existing equipment performance.
- Set and control departmental budgets, spending, and priorities.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time with clear plans and strategies, utilizing resources efficiently.
- Identify new processes, equipment, and facilities relevant to business needs.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within production and drive initiatives to completion.
Capabilities (Qualifications, Skills & Experience)
- Engineering qualifications (C&G/BTEC or National Diploma) or a degree in engineering preferred.
- Knowledge of AM/PM maintenance, with experience in implementing critical KPIs like MTTF and MTTR.
- Strong project management skills with experience managing projects.
- Proficiency with problem-solving tools and techniques.
- Ability to produce concise and accurate reports.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project. Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, and Access is advantageous.
- Experience in an industrial or factory engineering environment, including direct management of personnel.
- Technical experience in security print processes or similar is a plus but not essential.
- Experience in organizational change implementation.
- Familiarity with modern manufacturing methods.
- Experience implementing, driving, and developing the use of CMMS.
- Knowledge of FMEA risk assessments and prioritizing maintenance activities based on RPN ratings or other methodologies.
