The Specialist – Performance Reporting is responsible for the analysis and presentation of accurate and complete Business results for the Marketing business. They will be responsible for the processing and production of management and financial reports (both routine and ad hoc) including detailed analysis, forecasting and budgeting. With an evolving landscape for PGMs and Finance, emphasis will be placed on operating efficiency and effectiveness, with the Specialist being the role accountable for continuous improvement delivery in reporting and these processes.
Performance and Delivery
- Take a lead role in the processing and execution of accounting and finance activities to support the business requirements.
- Proactive engagement with the PGM team concerning reporting and business insight.
- Deputy to the Finance manager, including covering Finance manager duties during Singapore hours.
- Fronting and liaising with stakeholders such as the external auditors, front office, sales operations, wider finance team, Treasury and tax etc.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and big data thinking.
- Drive a collaborative process that provides visibility across the value chain performance and enables improvement in performance management capabilities.
- Lead the standardisation of reporting processes across the PGM Marketing Finance team.
- Responsible for the completion of the Monthly Performance Review/Quarterly Performance Review (or other ad hoc performance reporting required) including analysis and supporting information in accordance with internal requirements and deadlines for the Platinum business.
- This includes the coordination of collection of performance data from all relevant dependencies.
- Conduct analysis and provide insight into performance trends and results to identify value/improvement opportunity.
- Design, develop and implement an analytics approach that provides insights on key drivers of performance to enable the BUs in decision making.
- Act as the key support for the Marketing team in presentation generation and analysis.
- Undertake analysis, suggesting opportunities for improvement and value delivery.
- Prepare and process data/information required for actual, forecast, budget, interim and year end reporting to support the reporting of results for the commodity and the Production BU.
- Evolve and develop processes to improve forecast accuracy for the Business Units to support decision making.
- Support the Finance Manager in the review of the completeness, existence and accuracy of month-end data considering the expected results from front office commentary, alongside relevant margin and other KRA analysis.
Business Unit Consolidation
- Provide the PGM inputs into the Platinum BU consolidated results (financial & performance reporting) for inclusion in the periodic reporting requirements.
- Assist with obtaining information or conducting analysis to address queries/responses in relation to submissions and reporting from the business.
- Support the preparation of Board Papers for the business.
- Actively support the implementation and execution of improvement and development projects across Sales and Marketing activities and with related support functions.
- Implement and execute improvement and development projects pertaining to PGM Finance.
- Drive standardisation and automation of processes via continual improvements.
- Develop performance management process to drive continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Finance with CA, CFA, CPA qualifications.
- 5-7 years experience.
- Experience in commodity marketing / commercial analysis within a large organisation.
- Capacity to administer and optimise large data sets.
- Understanding of Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting processes.
- Understands the elements of key financial processes, principles of process design and delivery requirements needed for the business.
- Understands the fundamental principles of management reporting systems and is aware of how technology can be deployed to deliver efficiency, effectiveness and control to meet the defined business requirements.
- Competent across the range of tools and frameworks of strategic and financial analysis and presentation, and project management.
- Working knowledge of SAP preferred.
