Job Description
The Purpose
The SAP Product Owner is the driving force behind reliable, insight‑ready Finance and Supply Chain operations at De Beers Jewellers. Working across business teams and global SAP partners, the role ensures SAP becomes a seamless, trusted backbone for decision‑making, operational efficiency, and data integrity. By combining strong systems capability, a continuous improvement mindset, and a deep understanding of business processes, the Product Owner transforms operational needs into scalable SAP solutions — safeguarding data, elevating process performance, and enabling the business to operate with confidence and clarity.
Main Responsibilities
- Shape a clear, value‑led SAP roadmap that strengthens Finance and Supply Chain performance and supports the evolving needs of the business.
- Partner closely with business teams and global SAP colleagues to uncover opportunities, refine requirements, and translate operational needs into well‑crafted, insight‑driven specifications.
- Lead SAP initiatives of all sizes with clarity and momentum, ensuring each change is understood, tested, and delivered in a way that elevates business capability.
- Ensure SAP remains a dependable backbone for core processes — from month‑end close to daily operational flows — by providing proactive support and resolving issues with pace and precision.
- Safeguard the integrity of data across SAP and connected systems by upholding robust standards, controls, and quality checks that protect the accuracy of business‑critical information.
- Oversee the smooth deployment of system changes, patches, and upgrades, working closely with global teams to maintain stability and minimise disruption.
- Monitor incidents and service requests to ensure timely, meaningful resolution, using insights to drive continuous improvement across processes and system behaviour.
- Continually look for ways to simplify, optimise, and future‑proof SAP capabilities, ensuring the platform grows with the business and supports confident, insight‑led decision‑making.
What You’ll Do
- Act Like an Owner: Take responsibility for the performance, reliability, and integrity of SAP across Finance and Supply Chain. Ensure processes — from month‑end close to daily operational flows — run smoothly, accurately, and in line with the standards expected of a global luxury business.
- Create Clarity: Translate business needs into clear, structured SAP requirements and specifications, working with global SAP teams and third‑party partners to ensure every enhancement is well understood and commercially sound. Provide visibility on system changes, risks, impacts, and expected outcomes.
- Empower Teams: Work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve issues quickly, support day‑to‑day SAP activities, and strengthen ways of working. Ensure information, processes, and system updates flow seamlessly across Finance, Supply Chain, and operational teams.
- Challenge Conventions: Identify inefficiencies, data integrity risks, and opportunities to enhance SAP functionality. Propose improvements that elevate operational discipline, strengthen system reliability, and contribute to continuous improvement across the platform.
- Succeed Together: Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders and global SAP partners to deliver meaningful, value‑driven change. Lead SAP initiatives of all sizes with clarity and momentum, ensuring each change is understood, rigorously tested, and deployed with minimal disruption.
