The Acid Laboratory Technician ensures a safe working environment for researchers to execute laboratory-scale chemical processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out a variety of tasks specific to R&D projects using routine chemical processes and standard operating procedures.
- Providing hands-on assistance and technical advice to researchers.
- Maintaining the Acid Lab stocked, clean, and operational.
Duties and tasks:
- Perform routine chemical and analytical processes following standard operating procedures.
- Carry out risk assessments for processes in the Acid Laboratory.
- Write Standard Operating Procedures for new chemical processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring work is carried out using best practice.
- Routine maintenance of equipment and verification of performance.
- Provide training in routine chemical processes and ongoing technical support.
- Ensure laboratories are fully stocked, safe and operational.
- Comply with department and company procedures including Health & Safety.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a chemical laboratory and handling strong acids, such as hydrofluoric acid.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of health and safety standards and quality procedures.
- Attention to detail and diligence.
- Proficiency in MS Office software and relevant data acquisition, treatment, and processing software.
