Job Profile
The On-Site Network Engineer will be responsible for providing real-time support and resolution to network-related issues at the designated location. This role is critical to ensuring minimal downtime, quick recovery from incidents, and maintaining optimal network performance by addressing both fiber and radio link concerns. The engineer will work closely with Dynamic Data Solutions\’ NOC team to proactively monitor and troubleshoot network issues and will act as the primary point of contact for network operations on-site.
Specific Responsibilities
- Incident Response : Provide immediate, on-site troubleshooting and resolution of network outages, degraded links, and other network performance issues.
- Network Monitoring : Act as an extension of the NOC team by continuously monitoring the health of the network infrastructure, including fiber links and radio connections.
- Manual Failover Management : Oversee the manual failover process for radio links, ensuring they are operational and stable before activating them as backup.
- Preventive Maintenance : Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on network equipment to prevent performance degradation and outages.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) : Assist in creating detailed RCA reports for network incidents, ensuring that every major incident is thoroughly analyzed and reported with clear preventive measures.
- Client Communication : Serve as the primary on-site contact for network-related issues, providing real-time updates and solutions during incidents and outages.
- Collaboration with NOC : Work closely with Dynamic Data Solutions’ NOC team to ensure proactive measures are taken and incidents are escalated and resolved in a timely manner.
- Performance Reporting : Provide regular performance reports and feedback to management.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education :
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CCNP) are highly desirable.
- Experience :
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, preferably in an enterprise environment.
- Proven experience with troubleshooting network issues, including fiber and radio links.
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as Zabbix, SolarWinds, or Nagios.
- Technical Skills :
- Strong understanding of networking principles (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls).
- Hands-on experience with fiber optic and wireless (radio) network systems.
- Ability to work with various networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) and perform preventive maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with failover systems and manual failover procedures.
- Soft Skills :
