Workplace description: This hotel is a luxury boutique style London hotel situated in 3 acres of landscaped grounds and gardens and close to Uxbridge, Greenford, Harrow, central London and Heathrow. The hotel has a total of 73 bedrooms including many deluxe rooms and suites. The hotel is renowned for its exquisite modern French cuisine.
Responsibilities:
- Assists and supports the head chef in food preparation
- Prepares the starters as well as the vegetables
- Coordinates banqueting events alongside the banquet manager
- Provides support to the restaurant's sales and marketing team
- Is involved in the training of lower cadre staff
- Helps with menu planning
- Oversees breakfast preparation and service
- Meal preparation
- Oversees food preparation, cooking and presentation in the restaurant
- Enforces safety, health and hygiene standards in the kitchen
- Troubleshoots any problems that may arise in the kitchen
- Ensures that food goes to the customers in a timely manner
- Manages and supervises the commis chefs that work under them
Essential criteria:
You will have experience of working in a similar role. You will have an excellent attitude towards learning, be passionate about good quality cuisine and show dedication to your career. A stable background is desired for this position and you will ideally have experience of working to at least 1 Rosette standards.
