Main duties and responsibilities:
- Assist and support the head chef in food preparation
- Prepare the starters as well as the vegetables
- Coordinate banqueting events alongside the banquet manager
- Provide support to the restaurant's sales and marketing team
- Be involved in the training of lower cadre staff
- Help with menu planning
- Oversee breakfast preparation and service
- Meal preparation
- Oversee food preparation, cooking and presentation in the restaurant
- Enforce safety, health and hygiene standards in the kitchen
- Troubleshoot any problems that may arise in the kitchen
- Ensure that food goes to the customers in a timely manner
- Manage and supervise the commis chefs that work under them
