We are recruiting a Powertrain Systems Engineer (PTSE) to support the design, development and release of fuel and evaporative emissions systems for a major automotive OEM programme. This role is suited to an engineer with hands-on fuel system hardware experience who has owned components through design, validation and launch, working closely with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development and release of powertrain fuel system components
  • Ownership of Fuel Tank, Fuel Filler, Filler Pipe, Filler Hose, Fuel Cap, Fuel Delivery Module (FDM), Charcoal Canister, EVAP lines and Leak Detection Systems
  • Apply Failure Mode Avoidance, FMEA / FMA, 8D problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Support APQP, EBER and launch activities
  • Systems engineering activities including requirements management, integration and verification
  • Manage suppliers and support cost, quality and timing targets

Essential Experience

  • Automotive Powertrain / Fuel Systems Engineering
  • Design and release of fuel or EVAP hardware components
  • Strong understanding of EVAP systems and emissions
  • Experience with FMEA, 8D, warranty or failure investigation
  • Background in OEM or Tier 1 automotive environments

Desirable

  • Systems engineering methodologies
  • APQP / launch experience
  • Supplier management exposure
