Our end client, a UK retail bank known for offering current accounts, business banking, mortgages, and safe deposit boxes, operates through its online platform, mobile app, and physical stores. They are currently looking for a Senior Copywriter with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Proven working experience in writing product and promotional copy
  • Possess strong writing, punctuation, vocabulary, and compositional skills
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments/teams to understand their requirements and execute the task
  • Ability to explain technical information in a variety of long- and short-form formats
  • Proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides
  • Experience working with content management systems
  • Experience in social media monitoring and reporting, preferably within a regulated financial services environment, using tools such as Hootsuite

The successful Senior Copywriter will be involved in the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, and review accurate, compliant, and regulator-approved content for UK banking products and services, ensuring strict adherence to FCA, PRA, Payment Services Regulations, SMCR, Consumer Duty, and UK GDPR requirements
  • Develop clear, precise, and customer-focused regulatory content that translates complex UK banking regulations, legal obligations, and risk disclosures into plain English without diluting regulatory intent
  • Ensure all content complies with UK regulatory standards, internal compliance policies, risk frameworks, and approved legal terminology, while maintaining brand consistency
  • Create and adapt content across multiple regulatory formats, including product disclosures, terms & conditions, key information documents, customer communications, policy documentation, FAQs, and digital banking content
  • Monitor social media channels using tools such as Hootsuite to track customer conversations, complaints, sentiment, and emerging regulatory or reputational risks related to banking products and services
  • Analyse social media monitoring reports and dashboards to generate actionable insights for Compliance, Risk, Product, and Customer Experience teams, highlighting trends, potential conduct risks, and areas requiring regulatory clarification or content updates
  • Write/edit accurate, sales-oriented product and promotional copy that adheres to brand standards and legal requirements
  • Writing brand marketing copy that connects with the target audience
  • Adapt various voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by the client(s)
  • Work with the team to coordinate writing assignments with current editorial staff
  • Edit and proofread team members' copy and content
  • Review opportunities and suggest ways to improve content
  • Coordinate digital content needs with content management specialists, graphic designers, and copywriters
  • Stakeholder management, often across multiple geographies. Prompt and proactive communication with the stakeholders via email/phone/IM on the projects
