Location: Home-based, covering sites across the M25 area, including Central and Greater London

Contract type: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 5:00pm) Salary: £34,000 per annum

About the Role

Our client is a housing provider seeking a Health and Safety ISO Officer to support its Risk and Compliance function.

Reporting to the Health and Safety ISO Manager, you will help ensure regulatory compliance by assessing and reviewing company regulatory policy requirements, identifying risks and process improvements, conducting internal audits, supporting ISO audit preparation, and promoting a positive health and safety culture.

You will also monitor health and safety systems to ensure they are effectively implemented and that the organisation meets its statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the correct application of health and safety policies, procedures and processes across a designated area.
  • Conduct desktop and on-site audits of company locations and suppliers, carrying out inspections and risk assessments, and reporting findings and recommendations to the Health and Safety Manager.
  • Provide advice and guidance on the application and interpretation of health and safety legislation, company policies and best practice.
  • Support ISO compliance activities, internal audits, external audit preparation and the review of internal systems.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, carrying out root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
  • Produce health and safety reports, compliance data and management information.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to support compliance, continuous improvement and effective health and safety practices.
  • Key Skills & Experience
  • Experience in a health and safety role, with exposure to compliance monitoring, audits or inspections.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations and best practice.
  • Experience carrying out risk assessments and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ability to investigate incidents and recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Understanding of ISO management systems and audit processes.
  • Strong reporting, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with willingness to travel to sites as required.
