Salary: £35,000 Hours: 40 hours per week (Mon–Fri 8:30am–5pm, with occasional weekend and public holiday shifts)

About the Role

As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the site, carrying out general maintenance tasks, maintaining equipment, and helping to ensure the site remains safe and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and other practical tasks as directed by the Site Manager.
  • Perform reactive maintenance, including painting, decorating, and minor plumbing, and electrical repairs.
  • Install, repair, or replace fixtures and fittings, including locks, curtains, blinds, shelves, and window restrictors.
  • Assemble flat-pack furniture and install household appliances, such as washing machines.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including gardens and yards, and clear drains as required.
  • Complete maintenance records and ensure documentation is kept up to date in line with company policies.

  • General maintenance and DIY skills, including the use of basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to identify faults, evaluate solutions, and carry out repairs efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the location of the site.
