We are recruiting a Lead Engineer – Cockpit Plastic Trims to support the end-to-end development of automotive interior plastic components for premium vehicle programmes.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on cockpit and interior plastic trims, covering concept design through to production launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of cockpit plastic trims including fascia, IP and interior components
- Create and release CAD designs using CATIA V5/V6
- Apply DFMEA, DFM and DFA to ensure robust and manufacturable designs
- Work closely with Tier-1 suppliers on injection moulding, compression moulding and finishing processes
- Support NVH / BSR performance, durability and regulatory compliance
- Manage technical delivery during prototype, validation and production phases
- Drive cost, weight and quality targets, including VAVE activities
Essential Experience
- Strong background in automotive interior or cockpit plastic trim engineering
- Proven experience with plastic injection moulding and trim manufacturing processes
- Hands-on use of CATIA in an OEM or Tier-1 environment
- Knowledge of NVH, BSR and automotive regulatory requirements
- Experience working across design, manufacturing, quality and suppliers
Desirable
- Premium or luxury vehicle programme exposure
- Supplier management and cost optimisation experience
