Are you an experienced Antenna Engineer with a strong background in RF, microwave engineering and antenna design? We are recruiting a Senior Antenna Engineer to join an established engineering organisation developing advanced radar and surveillance technology. This is an opportunity to take technical ownership of antenna design, modelling, development and testing, supporting complex radar systems from initial requirements through to manufacture and production.
Key Responsibilities · Design, develop and optimise printed antennas, waveguide antennas and antenna arrays operating at microwave frequencies. · Undertake electromagnetic (EM) simulation, RF modelling, tolerance analysis and antenna performance verification. · Support RF component design and selection, including rotary joints, filters, splitters and combiners. · Conduct antenna testing using Vector Network Analysers (VNA), spectrum analysers and specialist RF test equipment. · Support near-field scanning, anechoic chamber testing and compact antenna ranges. · Work closely with systems engineering, hardware engineering, manufacturing, quality and suppliers. · Resolve technical issues, support root cause analysis and improve design for manufacture and test. · Manage technical work packages, engineering documentation, requirements and verification activities.
Essential Skills & Experience · Proven experience in antenna design and development at microwave frequencies. · Strong knowledge of printed antennas, waveguide antennas, slotted arrays or microstrip antenna technology. · Practical experience with RF testing, antenna measurements and electromagnetic modelling. · Understanding of RF components, microwave circuits and antenna system performance. · Experience supporting engineering development, manufacturing or production testing. · Ability to take technical responsibility and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Desirable
Experience · Antenna simulation software such as Altair FEKO, CST Microwave Studio or Ansys HFSS. · Radar systems, defence electronics, aerospace or maritime surveillance applications. · MATLAB, Python, EMC, systems engineering or requirements management.
