We are hiring Java Developers at Mid to Lead level for a contract role in Burgess Hill, UK, with a hybrid working arrangement of 2 days onsite. The role is focused on enterprise-scale workflow automation and digital transformation programmes, and it is ideal for engineers with strong Java backend expertise and hands-on workflow orchestration experience in enterprise environments. We are looking for immediate availability for interviews.
Responsibilities
- Support enterprise-scale workflow automation and digital transformation programmes
- Focus on backend engineering, workflow orchestration, and scalable enterprise automation using Java and Camunda
- Deliver workflow automation solutions in enterprise or product-based environments
- Contribute to design and implementation of REST APIs and microservices architectures
- Implement error handling and exception management within scalable systems
Qualifications
- 4–10 years of experience in Java backend development
- Strong experience delivering workflow automation solutions and hands-on workflow orchestration
- Experience with Camunda, DMN, and event-based architectures
- Proficiency with Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Maven
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns
- Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL
- Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
- Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
- Frontend exposure with React or Angular is a plus
- Banking / Financial Services experience is preferred
