Our client, a leading housing provider, is seeking a Childrens Registered Service Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Director of Children's Contracts, you will take a hands-on approach to lead the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring high-quality support and positive outcomes for young people leaving care, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people, by supporting them in their transition to adulthood and independent living.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage services to meet young peoples priority needs in line with legislation, policy, and good practice.
- Oversee service and staff performance, managing day-to-day operations, complaints, and maintenance.
- Liaise with stakeholders, local authorities, sub-contractors, Police, NHS, charities, and Environmental Health.
- Plan and manage business objectives to meet contract specifications and standards.
- Handle people management, including sickness, absence, performance, and discipline.
- Participate in service development, monitoring, review, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure equal opportunities and fair treatment for young people and staff, respecting cultural, religious, and physical needs.
- Ensure all safeguarding issues are managed according to company policies and procedures.
- Provide and manage 24/7 on-call support and maintain adequate staffing levels.
- Complete and submit required reports, returns, and safeguarding documentation accurately.
- Ensure staff are trained, placements facilitated, and safeguarding policies are followed.
Required Skills:
- Level 5 NVQ/Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or working towards.
- Level 5 Leadership & Management or willingness to complete.
- Strong knowledge of OFSTED and the interview process.
- Proven people management experience in a childrens care setting.
- Confident leadership with ability to build relationships with staff, landlords, and agents.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage own performance.
- Full UK driving licence with daily travel across a wide geographical area.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
