DCT Recruitment Ltd are looking for a Sales Manager to work in our ever-growing client. Our client is a well-known garage in the local area of St. Helens. The Sales Manager will be responsible for the management of the Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Teams. They are responsible for ensuring vehicles are maintained and repaired in accordance with the Policies and Procedures required and to ensure full Legal Compliance.
The manager must be able to:
- Effectively manage a Service department/function or a range of advanced tasks within a key Service function.
- Establish, implement and maintain effective policies and procedures and ensure the provision of high-quality service by the department.
- Effectively manage finances of the department including budget-setting, projections and/or bidding and claiming for external funding.
- Provide expert knowledge, advice and support to others within the Service, or to external parties regarding the Service, and ensure the provision of Specialist services in line with Service needs.
- Represent the department/function at meetings and act as Service representative for external initiatives as required.
- Manage and/or participate in projects relating to Service development or to the specific function or department.
- Collate and analyse available data within Service systems and from best-practice information and identify trends/make recommendations based on available data.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage the Vehicle Workshops and staff and ensure the provision of services within the Department are in line with Service needs.
- Establish common practices across both Workshop facilities, ensuring consistent approaches and standards are being maintained.
- Ensure all work is delivered to the required standard, in the required time and in the most efficient manner possible.
- Ensure effective task prioritisation, scheduling, allocation, delivery and work record keeping systems are in place and working efficiently.
- Establish, implement and maintain effective procedures for administrative systems including day-to-day financial administration and administrative planning for the Workshops.
- Act as the nominated service representative for various DWFRS initiatives as required and as relevant to the role, including attendance at National, Regional and Local meetings and working groups.
- Initiate, lead or support any relevant project work and/or process improvements which may arise as a result.
- Undertake project tasks or more specialised administrative work relating to the department.
- Manage the collection, maintenance and integrity of data within Service systems and ensure the timely and accurate provision of information, including the preparation of key performance indicators as required.
- Deputise for the Fleet Manager as required.
- Ensure Workshop staff are all provided with appropriate training to maintain standards of service delivery; plan training schedules including costings.
- Monitor and develop the performance of directly reporting staff, including conducting performance reviews and dealing with initial discipline and grievance issues.
- In liaison with Workshop Supervisors, ensure parts stock is well managed across the Workshops in a cost-effective manner, with stock levels maintained and accounted for.
- Have overall responsibility for Health & Safety within the Workshops, maintaining good records and ensuring training is in date.
- Ensure COSHH databases are updated and maintained for each site as required.
- Oversee the use of third-party contractors and specialised repairers, to ensure that all works are completed to required standards in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage and maintain the fleet management system, ensuring that all users maintain accurate and relevant data.
- Maintain, review and update Workshop procedures in response to changes in legislation or business practice, in liaison with Fleet Manager and other stakeholders.
- Cover for other team members when required.
