DCT Recruitment is looking for a Piping QA/QC Engineer. The Piping QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all piping installation, fabrication, and welding activities are performed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. The role also includes maintaining accurate weld tracking records and managing weld log data throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections for piping works including fabrication, erection, fit-up, and welding activities.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and international standards.
- Conduct visual inspections (fit-up, welding, dimensional checks) and coordinate NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT).
- Monitor material traceability and ensure correct material usage (MTC, heat numbers, tagging).
- Prepare and review QA/QC documentation such as ITPs, Method Statements, inspection reports, and NCRs.
- Identify non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions.
Weld Log & Data Management Responsibilities
- Prepare, update, and maintain weld logs in accordance with project requirements.
- Record and track all weld joints including joint numbers, welder IDs, WPS details, and NDT results.
- Ensure accurate entry of weld data into project systems/databases.
- Coordinate with welding inspectors, NDT teams, and construction teams to ensure data accuracy.
- Monitor weld repair rates and provide reports when required.
- Ensure full traceability between weld maps, isometrics, and inspection records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in piping QA/QC within industrial projects (oil & gas, petrochemical, energy, etc.).
- Experience in welding inspection and documentation.
- Familiarity with weld log systems and data tracking tools (Excel or specialized software).
- Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings and P&IDs.
- Good command of English (preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications
- CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 or equivalent welding inspector certification.
- Experience in large-scale EPC projects.
