Support Stores and Production Within a Specialist Engineering Business

We are recruiting for a Storesperson to join a well-established engineering business at its Blackbushe facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with stores, warehouse or production experience who enjoys practical work and takes pride in accuracy and organisation. Previous experience handling electronic or electromechanical components would be beneficial, although a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Storesperson, you will support the receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of stock and non-stock items. You will work closely with production and other departments to ensure parts are available and delivered safely, accurately and on time.

The role also involves basic goods-in inspection, including counting parts and checking simple dimensions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving, checking and storing incoming goods.
  • Carrying out stock checks and maintaining accurate stock records.
  • Picking component kits and shortage items for production.
  • Picking parts for sales orders and internal stock requisitions.
  • Delivering and collecting parts between departments.
  • Packing and preparing parts for dispatch.
  • Completing basic mechanical checks, including quantities and dimensions.
  • Using stock control systems to record stock movements.
  • Maintaining a safe, tidy and organised stores area.
  • Following health and safety, manual handling and COSHH procedures.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce errors, prevent damage and improve efficiency.
  • Supporting colleagues and adapting to changing business requirements.

Skills and Experience Required

  • GCSE English or an equivalent qualification.
  • A current full UK driving licence.
  • Good IT skills and confidence learning new systems.
  • Strong attention to detail when counting, weighing, checking and labelling parts.
  • An understanding of safe manual handling practices.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • The ability to follow instructions accurately and work on your own initiative.
  • A positive, flexible approach and willingness to learn.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous stores or warehouse experience, particularly within a production environment.
  • Experience using stock control software.
  • Experience handling electronic components in an electrostatic discharge (ESD) controlled environment.
  • Experience handling electromechanical parts.
  • A forklift truck licence.
  • Experience carrying out basic mechanical inspection.
  • Training or experience in handling and packing lithium batteries.
  • A-level qualifications or above.

Security Clearance Requirements

Security clearance will be applied for on appointment. Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • UK nationals only; dual nationals cannot be considered for this position.
  • Able to provide proof of UK residency for the last five years.
  • Suitable to undergo the required security clearance process.

What’s on Offer?

  • Permanent employment at the Blackbushe facility.
  • A varied role supporting stores, production and dispatch activities.
  • The opportunity to develop experience with electronic and electromechanical components.
  • Training to support role-specific tasks and ongoing skills development.
