We’re working with a leading engineering organisation developing advanced underwater acoustic and sensing technologies, seeking a Production Test Engineer to join their New Product Introduction (NPI) team. This is a hands-on role focused on bringing new electronic products into production, ensuring robust, efficient, and scalable test solutions.
You’ll play a key role in bridging design and manufacturing, helping to deliver high-quality products through well-engineered test systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electronic test jigs and production test equipment
- Support bring-up, validation, and verification of new PCB assemblies
- Develop both automated and manual test solutions to improve production efficiency
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to ensure design for testability
- Create technical documentation, specifications, and test procedures
- Manage configuration and version control of test systems
- Support fault-finding and debugging across hardware and software systems
- Contribute to project estimation and planning activities
- Mentor and support colleagues within the team
- Support test equipment across its full lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning and continuous improvement
You are a proactive and solutions-driven engineer who enjoys working in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments. You bring a strong problem-solving mindset and are motivated by continuous improvement and delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
Skills & ExperienceYou will have experience in several of the following areas:
- Electronics design and test development
- Production or manufacturing test systems
- Programming in C, C++ or C#
- Working within Linux command-line environments
- Fault finding and debugging of electronic and software systems
- Technical documentation and code reviews
- Working within structured engineering or development processes
- Experience supporting production teams and developing automated test systems would be advantageous.
Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
