We are working with an innovative and fast-growing technology company developing next-generation safety solutions for AI and autonomous systems. They are now looking for a UAS Build Engineer & Pilot to join their Flight Operations team. This is a hands-on role combining drone assembly, maintenance, testing, and flight operations, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge unmanned aircraft platforms across a variety of mission-critical applications.

What You’ll Be Doing
- UAS Build & Engineering
- Assemble, configure, and maintain unmanned aircraft systems in line with engineering requirements
- Integrate flight controllers, propulsion systems, payloads, sensors, and communication systems
- Carry out wiring, soldering, fabrication, and mechanical assembly of drone platforms
- Install and configure software, firmware, and ground control systems
- Conduct testing and validation prior to flight operations
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on UAS platforms
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues
- Maintain maintenance records, configuration logs, and documentation
- Manage spare parts and recommend upgrades or replacements
- Flight Operations
- Operate UAS platforms safely and in compliance with regulations
- Conduct mission planning and data collection activities
- Prepare flight logs, operational documentation, and reports
- Ensure all aircraft remain flight-ready and compliant at all times
- Compliance & Safety
- Maintain appropriate certifications, licences, and training
- Ensure alignment with aviation regulations and organisational procedures
- Support safety reviews, incident investigations, and continuous improvement
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry developments
What Makes You Stand Out
You are a hands-on engineer with strong experience in unmanned systems, comfortable working both in workshop and operational environments.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience building, maintaining, and operating unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)
- Good understanding of electronics, propulsion systems, and flight control systems
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues
- Experience with mission planning and ground control software
- Strong awareness of aviation safety and risk management principles
- Ability to work independently and in field-based environments
- Strong organisational and documentation skills
- Open A1/A3 (Essential)
Desirable Skills
- A2 CofC certification
- Experience working on complex autonomous or advanced UAS platforms
