DCS currently seek an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing specialist contractor delivering projects across the UK. This is a varied role combining commercial management with project co-ordination responsibilities, offering the opportunity to manage projects from award through to final account while working closely with clients, site teams, and senior management. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are commercially successful, well-coordinated, and delivered in accordance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from contract award through to final account, ensuring commercial performance and contractual compliance.
  • Prepare and agree valuations, variations, final accounts, cost reporting, forecasts, and cashflow management.
  • Review contract documentation and provide commercial and contractual support throughout project delivery.
  • Procure, manage, and administer subcontractors, including payments and final account negotiations.
  • Support dispute resolution and contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial processes.
  • Coordinate project documentation, programmes, permissions, and stakeholder communications from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Attend key project meetings and work closely with clients, operational teams, and site management to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Assist with health and safety documentation, pre-construction information, and project administration.
  • Maintain strong communication between commercial, operational, and client teams throughout the project lifecycle.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Project Surveyor, Commercial Surveyor, or Project Co-ordinator within construction, civil engineering, remediation, demolition, earthworks, or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
  • Experience managing valuations, variations, CVRs, forecasts, and final accounts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
