DCS are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our valued client to join a dynamic and growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with a strong background in residential housing who can hit the ground running, take ownership of projects, and play a key role in delivering high quality residential developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for residential build projects
  • Managing project costs throughout the construction life cycle
  • Procuring subcontractors and suppliers through tendering and negotiation
  • Preparing and administering contracts, valuations, and final accounts
  • Monitoring project expenditure and reporting on cost performance
  • Assessing and pricing variations, change orders, and additional works
  • Processing subcontractor payments and ensuring accurate cost control
  • Conducting site visits to monitor progress and commercial compliance
  • Liaising with clients, site teams, architects, and other stakeholders
  • Identifying commercial risks and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements

Requirements:

  • Relevant construction qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management is essential
  • Strong background in residential housing projects
  • Excellent commercial awareness and cost control skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
  • Ability to take ownership of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Proactive, organised, and detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to prepare accurate financial reports, forecasts, and CVRs
  • Good knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes
