Quality Engineer – Compliance & Auditing
We are supporting a well‑established precision engineering business operating within highly regulated sectors, including aerospace and defence. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their quality team at their Greater Manchester facility.
Purpose of the role
Ensure the business maintains compliance with aerospace standards, customer requirements and internal quality systems. This role focuses on audits, quality systems, compliance and continuous improvement rather than the day‑to‑day quality of manufactured products.
Typical responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the QMS / IMS
- Conduct internal process and system audits
- Support external customer, AS9100 and accreditation audits
- Manage non‑conformances from a systems perspective
- Support MRB and concession processes
- Produce quality reports and KPI data
- Develop SOPs and quality documentation
- Drive corrective and preventative actions
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Support calibration systems
- Ensure compliance with aerospace and customer requirements
Ideal candidate
- Quality Engineer or Lead Auditor
- Strong AS9100 knowledge
- Internal auditing experience
- QMS / IMS experience
- Manufacturing background
- Previous inspection experience beneficial
