We’re recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering organisation delivering advanced technologies for maritime, energy, environmental, and defence sectors globally. This is a high-impact opportunity to join a specialist electromechanical design team, working on solutions that demand precision, reliability, and continuous improvement. You’ll be involved in hands-on engineering, data-driven evaluation, and collaboration across production, design, and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain acoustic performance standards and acceptance criteria
- Validate and evaluate transducer performance throughout the product lifecycle
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure consistent, high-quality manufacturing
- Support introduction of new designs into production
- Specify acoustic and navigation performance requirements during early-stage design
- Lead root cause investigations into performance issues and implement corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Represent product quality in design reviews, releases, and supplier discussions
About You
Technically strong engineer with a detail-driven, problem-solving mindset. Enjoys working collaboratively and using data and analysis to influence outcomes.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar (BSc/BEng minimum)
- 3+ years’ experience in a relevant engineering role (graduate level + experience)
- Experience with quality standards and continuous improvement methods
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to achieve SC clearance
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in acoustics, transducers, or underwater technologies
- Familiarity with navigation equipment or systems
- Experience with embedded systems/programming
- Ability to analyse and interpret acoustic or sensor test data
- Hands-on mechanical or prototype testing experience
