A well-established electronic security integrator is seeking an IT & Networking Engineer to support IP-based fire and security systems across commercial and construction sites throughout London and the UK. This is a hands-on technical role supporting CCTV, access control, intercom and integrated security platforms. The position focuses on network configuration, troubleshooting and system readiness, working closely with installation, commissioning and service teams. It does not involve physical installation works but plays a key role in system integration and successful handover.
Key Responsibilities- Configure and support IP networks for fire and security systems
- Support integration of CCTV, access control, intercom and intruder systems
- Assist engineers with network setup, testing and commissioning
- Troubleshoot IP issues including VLANs, PoE, addressing and connectivity
- Support switches, basic firewall configurations and wireless access points
- Assist with system configuration, firmware updates and documentation
- Liaise with manufacturers and client IT teams where required
- Work safely on live commercial and construction sites
- IP-based security systems and integrated platforms
- Basic to intermediate networking (IP, VLANs, PoE, switching)
- Platforms such as Gallagher, Avigilon, Hikvision, Milestone or similar
- Support across installation, commissioning and handover phases
- Essential: IT, networking or systems support experience in a technical environment
- Good understanding of IP networking fundamentals
- Experience supporting IP-based security systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
- Clear communication and site safety awareness
- ECS or CSCS card (or ability to obtain)
- Desirable: Vendor certifications (Network+, CCNA, Microsoft)
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 or Azure
- Client-facing technical support experience
- Travel costs covered (Zones 1-2)
- Company phone, tools, uniform and PPE
- Fully funded training and certifications
- Paid on-call rota
- 20 days annual leave plus
