Full Time - 40 Hours | Variable Shift Pattern

I am recruiting for an experienced Technology Engineer - Roadside Technology to join a well-established organisation specialising in the delivery and maintenance of critical highways infrastructure across the UK.

The business plays a key role in keeping major road networks safe, operational and connected, delivering highways maintenance, technology and infrastructure services across significant national and regional contracts. This role sits within the NH East operation and will focus specifically on roadside technology across the region.

This is a hands-on engineering position involving the installation, maintenance and commissioning of roadside technology equipment, working alongside operational teams and specialist subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out the installation, commissioning and maintenance of roadside technology equipment.
  • Undertake software, hardware and systems testing.
  • Work safely and promote a strong safety culture across all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Produce and maintain required Health & Safety documentation.
  • Support the Assistant Project Manager with the planning and delivery of projects and tasks.
  • Oversee operational teams and specialist subcontractors on site.
  • Ensure productivity and quality targets are achieved.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and wider project teams.
  • Support the successful delivery of roadside technology works across the regional highways network.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in the installation and/or maintenance of electrical or electronic equipment.
  • ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
  • Previous registration with or knowledge of HERS.
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to travel across NH East contract sites.
  • Comfortable working roadside and at height.
  • Flexibility to undertake night work where required.
  • Ability to successfully complete a basic DBS check.

This opportunity would particularly suit someone from a highways technology, roadside systems, electrical/electronic maintenance, ITS or similar infrastructure environment who enjoys a practical, site-based engineering role.
