We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a hospital operating theatre refurbishment project on a live healthcare site. This is a 14-week contract role requiring strong leadership, excellent health & safety standards, and experience managing refurbishment works within sensitive environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations for the operating theatre refurbishment project
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site labour to ensure programme deadlines are achieved
- Maintain strict compliance with health & safety regulations, infection control procedures, and hospital site protocols
- Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inspections
- Liaise with clients, hospital representatives, consultants, and project teams
- Monitor quality control and ensure works are completed to specification
- Manage site documentation including RAMS, permits, progress reports, and site records
- Ensure minimal disruption to live hospital operations throughout the project
- Oversee delivery of works in line with programme and budget requirements
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on healthcare or hospital refurbishment projects
- Experience working within live environments, ideally operating theatres or clinical areas
- Valid SMSTS certificate
- CSCS Black/White Card
- First Aid at Work certification
- Strong understanding of health & safety and infection prevention procedures
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to drive programme and manage multiple trades effectively
Desirable
- Previous NHS project experience
- Knowledge of HTM standards and healthcare compliance requirements
- Asbestos awareness certification
