Building Pathology Surveyor

Up to Β£60,000 + Car Allowance

Midlands and surrounding areas (M62 corridor)

Office Based (1-2 days out on site)

We are currently partnering with a specialist consultancy within the Building Pathology sector to recruit a Senior Consultant. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional with a background in building surveying, structural investigations, or defect analysis to take ownership of projects and work closely with clients across a diverse portfolio.

/n

This is a varied position combining technical investigations, project management, and client-facing responsibilities. You will manage projects from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring a high standard of delivery.

/n

We are ideally seeking someone based in the Midlands and surrounding areas but can be flexible on this for some areas.

/n

Key Responsibilities:

/n

/n
- Condition surveys (intrusive and non-destructive)
/n
- Lead and deliver building pathology projects
/n
- Concrete assessments (composition, deterioration, corrosion)
/n
- Water ingress investigations and remediation planning
/n
- Non-destructive testing (GPR, ultrasonic pulse echo, etc.)
/n
- Building investigations for repurposing and design input
/n
- Coordinating laboratory testing and interpreting results
/n
- Produce and review clear, high-quality technical reports
/n
- Manage projects to meet safety, quality, and budget goals
/n
- Build strong client relationships and deliver practical solutions
/n
- Plan resources, allocate tasks, and monitor performance
/n
- Contribute to risk management and cost control
/n

Key Skills:

- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
/n
- Background in building surveying, structural engineering, or investigations
/n
- Some exposure to project management and delivery
/n
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with clients and teams
/n
- Commercial awareness and understanding of budgets
/n
- Problem-solving mindset with a collaborative approach
/n
- Commitment to safety and quality
/n
