DCS currently seek an enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team on behalf of a well established client. As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with operational teams, clients, and subcontractors, you will ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong commercial control. This role will involve managing projects across the North West initially with further opportunities to support projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects simultaneously
- Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Cost reporting and forecasting across live projects
- Reviewing contracts and identifying commercial risks
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and accounts
- Supporting operational teams with commercial guidance
- Producing accurate monthly CVRs and financial reports
- Liaising directly with clients, consultants, and site teams
- Assisting with tender reviews and project handovers
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and margin improvement
- Maintaining strong commercial documentation and compliance
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction
- Experience within refurbishment, specialist subcontracting, painting & decorating, or interiors is advantageous
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong financial and analytical ability
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and commercial reporting systems
- Full UK driving licence
