Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker – Hourly Paid £18.50 PH

About the Role
Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge with a forward-thinking organisation in the high-tech engineering sector? We are recruiting for experienced Sheet Metal Workers to join a well-established aerospace and defence manufacturer at their busy facility in Manchester (East).
As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be part of the team manufacturing products for aerospace and defence clients, performing a full range of sheet metal operations in line with Standard Operating Procedures and approved quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and assemble sheet metal components to close tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Follow in-house routing and processes, ensuring the correct calibrated equipment is used.
- Operate and perform key processes such as rubber pressing, hand forming, profiling parts after form, countersinking, wheeling, and rolling.
- Maintain attention to detail, producing consistently high-quality parts.
Essential Requirements
- Time-served Sheet Metal Worker with a strong engineering background (aerospace, pharmaceutical, medical, or other high-quality industries).
- Experience working with thin gauge aluminium.
- Ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings.
- Commitment to safe working practices and compliance with 5S standards.
Working Hours
Standard hours can be compressed into a four-day working week (36 hours over Monday – Thursday).
Overtime: first 10 hours paid at 1.5x hourly rate, any additional hours at double time.
