We are seeking a Project Engineer to support a major infrastructure project involving the installation of an 80km cable run starting at Hull. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning and delivering method statements, risk assessments, and ensuring civil works meet safety, environmental, and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all civil works related to the cable installation.
- Support the planning and execution of the 80km cable route, including trenching, ducting, and reinstatement activities.
- Conduct site visits and collaborate with construction teams to ensure safe and efficient implementation of works.
- Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
- Monitor and report on progress, risks, and issues affecting civil elements of the project.
- Ensure compliance with relevant CDM Regulations, Health & Safety standards, and environmental obligations.
- Review and verify technical drawings, work packs, and construction documentation.
- Assist with permitting, traffic management coordination, and stakeholder engagement where required
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in civil engineering projects, ideally including utility or cable route installation.
- Strong experience creating RAMS, with a solid understanding of health and safety practices.
- Knowledge of NRSWA, CDM, and related UK infrastructure regulations.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and working with design and field teams.
- Willingness to travel for site work and inspections.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with long linear infrastructure projects (e.g., cable, pipeline, or telecom installations).
- Familiarity with GIS or route planning tools.
- Valid CSCS Card and UK driving licence.
