The Opportunity
We are recruiting experienced Airframe / Aerospace Fitters to join a well-established aerospace manufacturer at their modern, purpose-built facility in Manchester. This role is strictly suited to candidates from an aerospace or precision engineering background. You will be working on metallic aerospace structures where accuracy, quality, and adherence to aerospace standards are essential.
Working Hours
Monday - Thursday
07:00 - 16:30 (compressed four-day week)
Overtime available: First 10 hours paid at 1.5x, Additional hours paid at 2x
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble metallic aerospace structures in line with aerospace quality standards and SOPs
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and aerospace specifications
- Carry out precision fitting operations, including:
- Drilling and countersinking
- Riveting
- Sealant application
- Installation of helicoils, bearings, and bushes
Essential Requirements
- Proven airframe / structural assembly experience
- Background in aerospace manufacturing or high-precision engineering
- Strong ability to read and work from technical drawings and aerospace specifications
- Hands-on experience with core aerospace fitting processes
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and compliance standards
This role is not suitable for general mechanical or non-precision engineering backgrounds.
