The Opportunity

Our client is a specialist engineering and surveying business providing high-quality measurement, laser scanning and surveying services across a range of engineering and construction sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Surveyor to lead and deliver a wide variety of surveying projects while helping to develop and expand the company's surveying capability. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced surveyor who enjoys both technical delivery and client engagement. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the future growth of the surveying department, with genuine opportunities to influence its direction and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver measured building surveys.
  • Carry out topographical surveys.
  • Undertake 3D laser scanning projects.
  • Complete engineering surveys, monitoring and setting out.
  • Operate Total Stations and laser scanning equipment.
  • Process survey data and produce accurate deliverables.
  • Liaise directly with clients throughout survey projects.
  • Plan and manage survey activities from site through to final delivery.
  • Support business development by building strong client relationships.
  • Assist in the future growth and development of the surveying department.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Conducting surveys across a variety of customer sites.
  • Operating Total Stations and laser scanning equipment.
  • Processing survey data and producing drawings.
  • Preparing survey reports and technical documentation.
  • Collaborating with engineering and project teams.
  • Meeting clients on-site and discussing project requirements.
  • Travelling throughout the UK as required.

Technical Requirements

Candidates should have experience in several of the following areas:

Software & Equipment

Experience with one or more of the following is desirable:

  • Leica RTC360
  • Leica Total Stations
  • AutoCAD
  • Cyclone REGISTER 360
  • Point cloud processing software
  • GIS or CAD software

Essential Skills

  • Strong experience delivering engineering or land surveying projects.
  • Ability to manage projects independently.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities.
  • Commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK.

Desirable Experience

  • Team leadership.

Essential Qualifications

Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
