Are you a UK CAA B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer looking for your next career move? We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading business aviation MRO for an experienced B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join their line maintenance team based at Farnborough Airport. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established aviation organisation with more than 40 years of industry experience, working within a professional engineering team supporting a diverse fleet of small to mid-size, turbine-powered business aircraft across the UK and Europe.

The Role

As a B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out and certifying aircraft maintenance within the scope of your licence, company approvals and authorisations. You will provide line maintenance and AOG support to customers while ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved maintenance data and regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out and certifying aircraft maintenance within the scope of your B1 licence and company authorisations.
  • Providing Aircraft on Ground (AOG) and line maintenance support to customers.
  • Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections and defect rectification.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft defects and technical issues.
  • Carrying out maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance data, manufacturer instructions and company procedures.
  • Supporting aircraft turnarounds and ensuring aircraft are returned to service safely and efficiently.
  • Completing and certifying maintenance documentation accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with applicable UK CAA/EASA Part-145 requirements.
  • Liaising with customers, flight crews, maintenance control, manufacturers' representatives and other engineering/support teams.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to other members of the maintenance team where required.
  • Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, compliance and customer service.
  • Working effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
  • Travelling as required to support AOG and mobile maintenance activities.

Type Allowance

Once type rated and approved on the relevant aircraft type, you will receive: £2,000 per annum per type, up to a maximum of 5 types. This provides the opportunity to earn up to an additional £10,000 per annum in type allowances.

About You

We are looking for an experienced, professional and motivated UK CAA B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer with a strong background in aircraft maintenance. You will ideally have:

  • A valid UK CAA B1 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
  • Relevant line maintenance experience.
  • Experience certifying aircraft maintenance within your licence and company authorisations.
  • Business aviation experience is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Experience on Cessna Citation, Embraer, HondaJet or Bombardier aircraft is advantageous.
  • Strong troubleshooting and defect rectification skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and the unrestricted ability to travel as required.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions within your licence and authorisations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • A professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when completing and certifying maintenance documentation.
  • A positive, flexible and proactive attitude.

Business jet experience is preferred, but candidates with strong relevant B1 experience from other aviation environments will also be considered.

Shift Pattern

10:00 - 22:00 4/5/5/4/5/5 shift rotation £3,000 annual shift allowance. The structured shift pattern provides an excellent work-life balance while offering the opportunity to work within a dynamic and highly professional business aviation environment.
