The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Gas Engineer looking for a new challenge with a business that values its engineers and offers genuine long-term career progression? We're recruiting on behalf of a leading facilities management organisation for a Commercial Gas Engineer to join their growing team. This is a mobile role covering a portfolio of large retail sites, where you'll be responsible for ensuring commercial gas systems remain safe, compliant and operating efficiently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial experience or an engineer with a mixture of domestic and commercial experience who is looking to further develop their career within commercial facilities maintenance.
The Role
Working independently across multiple sites, you'll carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing, fault finding and reactive repairs on a variety of commercial gas systems. You'll manage your own workload while providing an excellent level of service to customers and ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair commercial gas appliances and heating systems.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
- Undertake gas testing, purging and commissioning where required.
- Ensure all work complies with current Gas Safe regulations and company procedures.
- Complete service reports, certification and job documentation accurately.
- Support wider facilities maintenance activities where appropriate.
- Participate in the regional on-call rota.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer, Mobile Gas Engineer or Heating Engineer.
- Engineers with a mixture of domestic and commercial experience are encouraged to apply.
- Commercial Gas qualifications such as CODNCO1, CIGA1, CORT1, TPCP1/1A or equivalent are desirable.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance and repair work.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Experience
- F-Gas qualification.
- Air Conditioning, HVAC or Electrical experience.
- Facilities Management or Retail Maintenance background.
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience.
